Route 1: Fornells - North Coast

• Difficulty level: Low (gentle pedalling)

Leaving from Mercadal in direction to Fornells visiting the Defense Tower, Sant Antoni’s Castle, the church and the fishing port. Back to Mercadal, take the road of the right side, from the roundabout. This road will guide you to the unspoilt beach of Cavalleria. Once there, you can have a rest and visit the lighthouse. Don’t forget to take some pictures! Then, back to Mercadal by the Tramontana.

Route 2: North coast beaches

• Duration aprox.: 2h 30’
• Difficulty level: Low.

Leaving from Mercadal, take the road of Tramontana, towards Cavalleria. Once there, you could visit the beach and the lighthouse, besides Binimel·la and the pristine waters of Cala Pregonda beach. To get to Pregonda, you will have to leave the bicycle at the parking of Binimel·la’s restaurant and go on foot through the Camí de Cavalls (the ancient horse path that runs around the perimeter of the Island). You will find it easily!

Route 3: North Coast (all day)

• Difficulty level: Low.

From Mercadal to Fornells, Faro de Cavalleria , Binimel·la and Cala Pregonda beaches. This excursion includes the previous two routes, except the visit to Cavalleria beach. Enjoy the landscape!

Route 4: Mercadal - Tramontana - Ferreries

• Distance aprox.: 35 km.
• Surface: asphalt and track.
• Duration: 3h (Including time to rest)
• Difficulty level: Medium.

From Mercadal in direction to Tramontana. Visiting the beaches of the North coast (Binimel·la, Cala Pregonda (on foot ) and towards Ferreries, through the Camí de Ruma. It is highly recommended to stop and visit the Hort de San Patrici (winery). The route ends at the main road of the Island. So, the best option to go back to Mercadal (3 Km) is to take the Camí d’en Kane, on the left hand side, and in front of Son Arret farm. Halfway you must jump over a fence and cross a wood area to reach Mercadal.

Route 5: Coloms' Cave - Monte-Toro

• Surface: asphalt and unpaved track.
• Duration: 3h (including time to rest)
• Difficulty level: High

The route begins at the road from Mercadal to Es Migjorn Gran. After visiting the village, take the road that goes to the cemetery (about 3km), leave the bicycle and take a 10 minuts walk to get to the cave.

From Es Migjorn you can visit Santo Tomás and Binigaus beaches. The last one is really awesome!

The second part of this excursion consists in climbing Monte Toro (3km), being the highest point on the island. It is at 358 metres above sea level. Once on the top, and after visiting the beautiful sanctuary of the 17th Century, you can have a drink or eat an ice cream at the Cantina. Enjoy!
